Just had an issue on a limited space MacAir, while moving movie from ipad to memory stick export, it instead moved the file to unknown temp area on HD thus used up all the space on the MacAir.
Had to cancel the transfer but can find where it cached the temp file, to remove all the space it taken.
Our software uses a caching method is to ensure the data does get corrupted during transfer. During transfer, iExplorer copies the media to your temp folder on your hard drive first, and then from there it is transferred to your desired destination. Since your temp folder will lose all data if power is lost, you can rely on having no issues with your files or devices if something happens. Unfortunately there is not a way to alter this feature as it is very important.
iExplorer does first need to save a copy of each file to a temp folder before copying to the destination folder which doesn’t get cleared out until you close the app or restart your computer. At this time, there is not a way to move the location where iExplorer stores the temporary files. We plan to makes some changes to how temp files are handled so that the temp files are cleared out faster and even during the transfer, but for now, to get those cached files cleared out of the Temp folder, just close iExplorer or restart your computer, and they’ll get removed.
